Hello, Visitor from Here, There, or Everywhere,

Thanks for stopping by. I am a versatile creative with a passion for outside-the-box thinking and experience. As we move into this new era of technology and what that means for Creative, I find my particular skill set is becoming more important than ever. “And what is that skill set,” you say? Well, first off, and probably most importantly, I have taste. I have impeccable taste in all important creative endeavors: fine art, film, music, literature, theater, Arkansas Razorback sports moments, and everything in between. If it was made, I have a strong opinion on its validity, and I am confident I am correct in my assessment.

Secondly, I have a wide breadth of hard and soft skills. Let’s make this as quick as possible, but let’s not lose sight of how important this all is. I’ve been a college professor. I’ve been a dump truck driver. I’ve been an art museum professional. I’ve been a boat captain. I’ve been an art director, visual designer, and creative services manager. I’ve been an independent art curator. I am a museum-collected visual artist. I have an MFA and a BFA. I’ve taken all the liberal arts requirements in a traditional university setting. I’ve even taught some of them. I’ve worked as an electrician in a deep southern state. I’ve worked as a college administrator in one of the most liberal cities in the U.S. I can make films, drawings, paintings, write songs, program websites, create motion graphics, build furniture. I can play guitar, bass, accordion, and piano. I can manipulate AI to create short films that I write, score, and design. I could keep going, but I won’t. I know when to stop. To listen.

I know that I can do all of these things, but I also know that many others can do them just as well—and some can do them at a much higher level than I can. I want to work with those people. I want to make great things, and whoever has the skills to make it the greatest, I want to work with them. I have no ego when it comes to work, only pride in seeing a project through and knowing I helped plug the right people into the right places and worked in harmony to make it wonderful.

And finally, I have an openness to new experiences, technology, and ideas. Along with this, I have a deep desire to continue learning. I find that learning new skills in order to manifest new ideas is what brings me the greatest joy in life.

So for all you ADHD-addled, short attention span, phone-and-scroll addicts, let me sum this all up in fast bullet points for you. Why am I the best for whatever you’ve got in terms of creative needs?
  • I have impeccable taste and constantly question the value of every piece of creative I encounter.
  • I have both a breadth and depth of soft skills and hard skills shaped by a plethora of experience and education.
  • I have a deep desire and openness to continue learning and experiencing new things.
  • Simply put, I love bringing ideas to life—whether on screens, out in the great wide open, or somewhere in between.

If you're into ambitious projects, collaborative energy, and pushing creative ideas as far as they can go, I’m your person. Give me a ring-a-ding-ding-dong on the ol’ telephone (or you know, it’s totally cool if you’d rather email, I guess—save those quarters). Anyway, thanks again for stopping by. Be well, my fellow wanderer of this strange plane of human consciousness.

Kindly,
Louis
